Senior Shout Out: Lawrence Jackson Smith (SAMPLE #2)

Lawrence Jackson Smith proudly walked across the stage accepting his diploma from Wilbourne High School on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Sitting in the audience cheering him on were his parents, Richard and Tonya Smith, and his siblings, Romero and Tasha.
“There are so many wonderful memories I made at Wilbourne High and I am going to really miss seeing my friends every day,” said Lawrence. “They are friendships I hope will stay with me long after graduation.”
While a student at Wilbourne High School, Lawrence was extremely active in sports with running cross country, basketball, and soccer, which he played on a travel team. On campus, he was a member of the Coding Club, HOSA, and the Yearbook Club. He exceled academically being named on the President’s List all four years and ranked number two in a student body of 150 students.
When he was not at school, Lawrence was very active at his church; volunteered at Chesney Tutoring Services helping elementary and middle school students in math and science; and honed his skills playing the piano.
Lawrence is the recipient of an institutional award from Morehouse College where he plans to proceed in the fall while pursuing a degree in biology. He hopes to continue his education at either Morehouse School of Medicine or Meharry Medical College to become a pediatrician.
Congratulations to Lawrence Jackson Smith, a Wilbourne High School 2025 graduate.
