Several Guests Speak at Hardeman County Democratic Party April Meeting

The Hardeman County Democratic Party held its April 2024 monthly meeting on Monday, April 20, 2024, at Whiteville City Hall. Several guests came out to support and discuss their upcoming interests in the community.

Larry Pivnick discussed his candidacy for District 8 Congress as a Democratic Party primary candidate. He is a former law professor and currently works at Emeritus Law whose agency provides free legal service clinics for the communities in Memphis, Tennessee. Larry’s main focus is education.

Leonard Perkins discussed his candidacy for District 8 Congress as a Democratic Party primary candidate. He is a retired military veteran and currently a pastor at a church in Memphis, Tennessee. Leonard advised that his main focuses were veterans’ rights, women’s rights, and pro-labor.

Kessler Jones, who is the Chair for the Young Democratic Party in McNairy County, discussed opportunities for the Hardeman County Democratic Party to start a Young Democratic Party for Hardeman County, ages 16-32. Kessler is running for Assessor of Properties in McNairy County.

Michion Gatlin, who is co-chair for the Hardeman County Democratic Party, is running for County Commissioner, District 1, Position 3.
