Sheriff’s Department Responds to 252 Service Calls During Winter Storm Fern

The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department shared that during the recent winter weather event, they responded to a high volume of calls while hazardous road conditions and power outages affected our community.

“From January 24 through February 3, 2026, our deputies handled 252 total calls for service, including 14 motor vehicle accidents, 38 welfare checks, 11 stranded motorist assists, 40 citizen assists, and numerous other emergency and service calls,” said Sheriff John Doolen. “We are proud of the dedication shown by our deputies, dispatchers, and partner agencies who worked around the clock to keep our community safe during extremely challenging conditions. We also want to thank our citizens for their patience and cooperation while crews worked to respond as quickly and safely as possible.”
