Hardeman County Solid Waste Committee Meeting – 5/05/22

The Solid Waste Committee met May 5, 2022. Committee members present at the meeting were Chis Bell, Gary Barber, Bobby Wright, Jackie Sain, Justin Howell, Johnny Lanier along with Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain.

The purpose of the meeting was to consider a new piece of equipment called a landfill compactor. They approved an available machine with a cost of $618,000 to be purchased through a local bank loan plus COVID funds. Also, hiring of an operator at an estimated cost of $40,000 a year.

It was stated that cell four in the landfill is near ready for opening.
