Area Students Host Princess Tea Party for St. Jude Fundraiser
Chasney Vue, a Middleton High School senior, along with South Gibson County High School seniors Chloe Rimmer and Leah Williams; Milan High School senior Abby Wright; University School of Jackson junior Ava Grace Young; and Lexington High School senior Addison Standfill, hosted a Princess Tea Party for little girls on Sunday, January 5, 2025. The event was a partnership with Chasney and those five high school students, who are participants in the My Best Friend Jenna’s Lights Camera Fashion program, in an effort to raise funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The delight the little girls felt to be a part of the experience was obvious in their eyes and with the smiles on their faces. When the little princesses entered the event venue, they were greeted by Chasney and the other teens, who were dressed as princesses, and directed to several tables, which had snacks and different prepared activities.
“The table stations consisted of braiding hair, painting nails, and I worked the temporary tattoos and face paint station,” said Chasney. “Watching the little girls come together and have fun and just seeing the smiles we put on their faces was a joy! The girls danced with us, and we took plenty of photos.”
Chasney shared a special moment from the tea party, which ended with eating cake.
“One little girl told me that one day she wants to be just like me and raise money for kids too,” said Chasney.
The Princess Tea Party was one of several events Chasney has participated in to raise money for St. Jude. Some other efforts included selling T-shirts, and she has plans for another egg roll sale.
“As of right now, I have sold 42 dozen homemade eggrolls. I hope to hold a volleyball tournament and another T-shirt sale,” said Chasney. “The Princess Tea Party event was very successful!”
