Suspect Arrested in Grand Junction Hit and Run

On Sunday, May 14, 2023, a young woman was left in critical condition after being hit by a car while walking on Highway 57 in Grand Junction. A 911 call received around 9 p.m. reported an unresponsive female laying in the middle of the road. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and is still slowly recovering from the injuries she sustained.

Lavar Anderson, 44, was identified as a suspect and was arrested on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Anderson is charged with reckless assault, hit and run involving injury, and driving on a revoked/suspended license.

Lavar Anderson was booked into the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Center and was later released on a $50,000 bond.

The incident is being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
