Teen Braden Alexander Turns a Chore Into a Cleaning Business

Fifteen-year-old Braden Alexander took a regular household cleaning chore and has managed to turn it into a thriving business in Hardeman County, Tennessee. Braden’s Bin Cleaning service has been in business for a little over two weeks and already has a growing client list.
Just like most teenagers, Braden has chores around the house, and one of them is to regularly clean the garbage bin. Instead of complaining like some teenagers do, Braden saw an opportunity. He thought, maybe, there are other people, who would also like to have clean garbage bins.

“My mom always makes me keep our garbage bin clean and I told her ‘Ma, I can probably make some money doing this for other people’,” said Braden.
From there, Braden’s Bin Cleaning service was born. To Braden’s surprise, there are a lot of people in the community who want to have their garbage bins cleaned and sanitized. Braden has been happily overwhelmed by the reception of the service and community support. A challenge he has already experienced is juggling his business with playing his favorite sport, basketball, which he does as a member of the Bolivar Central High School Tigers team.
Being business-minded comes naturally to Braden as he has several family members who are also entrepreneurs.
“My mom has a cooking business, and my father has his own lawn service. I have an uncle with his own lawn and pressure washing service, a couple of aunts who are beauticians, and cooks and caterers in my family,” said Braden, who shared a few words of wisdom and encouragement to his peers, who may also want to become entrepreneurs. “There is more to life than being in the streets and the only way you fail is if you don’t try! Be yourself.”
Braden has received a lot of support from his family, which is not surprised by his entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and immediate success.

“The things my child has instilled in his heart and mind comes from himself. Braden has always been a well-mannered and respectful child, and we are proud to be his parents,” said Ms. Hill also speaking on behalf of Braden’s father, Victor Alexander. “Braden spoke this vision and brought this vision to life. We are amazed at our child starting a small business at the age of 15. Keep being positive Braden.”
Although Braden plans to continue operating his business after school starts in August, and has hopes of offering more services, his education is where he is most focused.
“When school starts back, it’s books first! When I’m not playing ball, I will continue my business, but school is first,” said Braden.
