Town of Hornsby Meeting – June 2024 {video}

The Town of Hornsby met for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Some of the items on the agenda included:

  • Approval of the minutes and reading and approval of the agenda
  • Discussion about the Hardeman County 911 bill with a question as to why they are paying the bills for other departments when the town can barely afford its own expenses.
  • Public hearing on June 18, 2024, with a public meeting to follow for the second reading of the 2024/2025 budget.
  • Water department continues to be the biggest expense of the town. Discussion about the new water policy that will go into effect on Monday, July 1, 2024. Approximately 385 people are served each month and 20 of those pay late each month. Citizens will no longer receive calls or texts notifying them about service cutoff.
  • Officer, staff, and board member reports
  • Public discussion included a complaint about overflowing trash from a resident’s trailer that attracts flies, mosquitoes, and maggots.
