Town of Whiteville Meeting – July 2023
The Town of Whiteville met for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on July 3, 2023. Some of the items discussed included:
- Tennessee Housing Development Agency approved a grant for the Town of Whiteville that will be offered to homeowners who meet certain criteria. Applications will be available at a later date. {6:25}
- A new grant will allow the Town of Whiteville to add a new police officer. The town currently has seven fulltime police officers. The one officer who is currently part-time would move to a fulltime position with the grant. {13:14}
- The Lee Ola Roberts Library summer program has served more than 350 meals. {28:08}
- The mayor’s annual birthday bash has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. {40:29}
- At the request of a citizen, the agenda for future meetings will be posted on the Town of Whiteville Facebook page prior to each meeting.
Time is included on all meeting agendas for citizens to speak and the community is invited to attend all meetings.
