General contractor, vocational advocate, and television host of DIY Network’s Rescue Renovations, Kayleen McCabe visited six Hardeman County elementary schools last week.

Ms. McCabe, who is an advocate of trade careers and education, spent time reading some of her favorite children’s books to the students. The House That She Built and Interstellar Cinderella reminded students that trade jobs are not just for boys. Every child was also given a copy of the coloring book All the Kids on Builder Street to take home.

Through a partnership with Hardeman County Schools, Kayleen McCabe will be returning in the future to lead building workshops with students.

Ms. McCabe’s goal is to shed light on the rising demand for trade professionals and to help restore America’s respect for the trades.
