TVA Releases Cause of Widespread Overnight Outage in Parts of Fayette and Hardeman Counties

A representative from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has released the cause of the widespread power outage over parts of Fayette and Hardeman Counties during the overnight hours. According to the representative a tree fell in a swamp area between Bolivar and Whiteville and hit a transmission line. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. and the outage was repaired at approximately 6:30 a.m.
