Two Men Arrested After Posing as a Woman on Dating Site with Intent of Robbing Citizens
The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office recently announced the arrest of two men after an undercover operation was held in response to recent violent crime in the county. They determined that the male subjects were posing as a female on dating sites with the intent of robbing citizens.
The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department shared that the suspects were quickly identified in the crime and an undercover operation was initiated. The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Bolivar Police Department (BPD) and Jackson Police Department (JPD), arranged a date with the supposed female subject. Three male subjects, two adults and one juvenile, arrived at the meeting location dressed in masks and hoodies with weapons displayed. All three subjects were immediately apprehended. One of the weapons in their possession was confirmed as stolen property from a previous robbery.
Traverious Parham, 20, and Kameran Scruggs, 19, were arrested at the Rodeway Inn in Bolivar and are both being held on a $200,000 bond.
The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office extended its appreciation to the BPD and JPD for assisting in the investigation.
