Whiteville Celebrates Grand Opening of New Dog Park

The Town of Whiteville celebrated the grand opening of its new dog park on Saturday, October 28, 2023, with refreshments and a costume contest. The dog park is located next to the Lee Ola Roberts Library at 140 West Main Street in Whiteville.

The dog park offers a play yard for large dogs and one for small dogs.

Last summer, The Boyd Foundation announced the Town of Whiteville was one of the 2022 grant winners of the Dog Park Dash program. Whiteville received a $25,000 grant to build the dog park.

Some of the dog park’s first visitors try out the equipment before competing in the costume contest.

The goal of the Dog Park Dash program was to make Tennessee the most pet-friendly state in America with the building of 100 dog parks across the state. Last summer’s grant winners announcement brought the program full circle with 100 dog parks already built or works in progress throughout the State of Tennessee.
