Registration for Youth Men’s Basketball League Open

The City of Bolivar Parks and Recreation Department will open registration for its Youth Men’s Basketball league on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Players, ages 15 to 18 years old, are encouraged to come out and participate in the league, which is open to all area children.

The basketball program is one of the most popular sports options offered through Bolivar’s Parks and Recreation Department. Leagues for elementary school age through high school age children, and adults are offered throughout the year. Many of the children who participate in the league continue playing in Hardeman County middle schools and high schools honing their skills.

“Playing basketball is a fun way for kids to stay active. It helps them form friendships, learn to work on a team, and provides them with an outlet for their energy,” said City of Bolivar Parks and Recreation Department Director Anthony Ford, who is also a Hardeman County Schools board member. “Ultimately, the teens are benefiting in their physical health, mental health, and social well-being. Besides, our league has always been known for producing great ball players.”

The registration for the spring league is $35, which includes a team T-shirt. Students registering for the league must be at least 15 years old by Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

Registration will be held at the City of Bolivar Municipal Center {211 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008} in the gym. The last day to register is Friday, April 18, 2025. If you have questions, you may call (731) 658-7529 for more information.
