Old Hatchie Veterinary Clinic celebrated in a big way on Saturday, August 26, 2023, as the clinic recognized 70 years of veterinary service in Hardeman County and the retirement of Dr. Jerry V. Wilhite. {read article}

Senator Walley Congratulates Bolivar Senior Center for Receiving Competitive Grant
State Senator Page Walley is congratulating 11 senior citizen centers, including Bolivar Senior Center, in Senate District 26 for receiving grants from the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD). Following a competitive grant process, TCAD distributed $8,000 grants to 125 senior centers across Tennessee. {read article}

Aeneas Celebrates Milestone Enrollment
Last summer, Bolivar Energy Authority (BEA) and Aeneas announced their partnership to build and expand a Gigabit fiber network to bring broadband communications to the BEA service area. {read article}

First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Narcan Training to be Offered in Bolivar

TSSAA Moves to Fine Schools for Fans’ Bad Behavior
The Tennessee Secondary School Athletics Association (TSSAA) Legislative Council met via a special called virtual meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2023, to take action on six proposed changes to the bylaws. Several clarifications were made to existing rules, but two of the approved changes were related to unsportsmanlike conduct by spectators. { read article }

Town of Hornsby will meet at 435 Main Street, Hornsby, 38044, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 7 p.m.
Forest Festival festivities kick off on Friday, September 8, 2023. There is still time to enter the canned foods contest. Submissions will be accepted on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Learn more about the canned foods contest and how you can enter.
The Hardeman County Arts Council’s (HCAC) production of Shrek The Musical JR. opens on Friday, September 8, 2023. The HCAC is accepting fairytale themed artwork from area children. Learn how your child can submit artwork that will be used to decorate the theatre lobby.
EXERCISE CLASS
Line Dance and Fitness Class will be held at the Bolivar Municipal Center, 211 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 5 p.m. (advanced class) and 6 p.m. (beginner class), and on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 5 p.m. (advanced class).
