Obituary: Marilyn Wood

Marilyn Wood, 78, of Bolivar, Tennessee passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home.
Born Marilyn Ann Rinks October 10, 1946, in Bells, Tennessee to W.T. (Buss) Rinks and Callie Rinks (Davis), she was retired from Quinco Community Mental Health Center in Bolivar. In the past, she also worked with the Hardeman County Health Department and the Bank of Bolivar. Raised on Skytop Farm near the Middleburg community, she graduated from Bolivar Central in 1964. She was a member of Bolivar Church of Christ and served with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society for many years.
She married Herbert Wood on October 28, 1966, at Middleburg Baptist Church.
Services will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Bolivar. The burial will be in the Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include a son Greg Wood of Jackson, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Luke Wood of Los Angeles, California and Lily Wood of Medina, Tennessee; and two sisters, Nancy Weems and Sandy Keith, both of Bolivar.
She was preceded by her husband; parent; a brother, Billy Rinks; and sister, Hilda Butler.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
