City of Bolivar Launches New Safety Registration Program for Residents with Dementia and Alzheimer’s
The City of Bolivar has announced a new community safety initiative aimed at helping first responders better assist residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease during emergencies.
The Bolivar Dementia & Alzheimer’s Safety Registration Program allows families and caregivers to provide important information about loved ones diagnosed with either condition, giving emergency personnel access to valuable details when responding to a call.
Residents who have a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s are encouraged to complete a Safety Registration Form and return it to Mick Vinson at the Bolivar Police Department or Sarah Rice at the Bolivar Fire Department.
Registration forms are available at both departments and will also be available for download through the city’s website at www.cityofbolivar.com/police.
Completed forms will be kept on file, with copies forwarded to the Hardeman County Emergency Communications District (9-1-1). This information will help first responders better understand and assist registered individuals during emergency situations.
City officials hope the program will provide an added layer of safety for vulnerable residents while offering families and caregivers greater peace of mind.
