Bolivar Awarded Recreational Trails Program Grant for Sand Beach Lake

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation announced the City of Bolivar has been awarded a Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant in the amount of $358,065.84 for its Sand Beach Lake Trail improvement project. This project includes trail improvement, asphalting approximately 5,584 of 10-foot-wide trail utilizing the existing gravel pathway.
“Representative Johnny Shaw and I were proud to work with the City of Bolivar to help secure these funds for the further development of Sand Beach Lake. Putting our people ahead of politics leads to big things for the community,” said Senator Page Walley.
The RTP program provides federal funding to match local governments for land acquisition for trails, non-routine trial maintenance, trail construction, trail rehabilitation, and trail head support facilities.
