The HCCBH was formed in 1980 and awarded its first scholarship in 1982. To be eligible, students must complete an application, submit three letters of reference, a transcript, and complete an essay on how receiving the scholarship will assist them in continuing their education. Scholarship money is awarded once students have completed the first semester of school, submit their transcript, and show enrollment for the second semester.

Students interested in applying for the HCCBH Scholarship may pick up an application from their high school counselor after school has started in August. Applications are typically due mid April of each school year.
