Bolivar Community Garden is Hosting a Best Scarecrow Contest
Do you have the best scarecrow?
The City of Bolivar Community Garden is hosting a Best Scarecrow Contest and wants you to get creative and present your best scarecrow.
Individuals and groups of all ages are invited to participate in the area-wide event that will celebrate fall, promote community awareness of the garden, and provide a means for its continued maintenance.
“We are raising money for the community garden for seeds, soil, new raised beds, and replacement garden tools,” said Brittney Willis, City of Bolivar Community Garden Coordinator. “It will help us keep the maintenance costs for the city down by bringing together the community to support a community driven project.”

The entrance fee to participate in the Best Scarecrow Contest is $10 for an individual, business, or non-profit. Your scarecrow may be any size. Standard T-posts are provided by the community garden to mount your scarecrow. You may download the contest registration form and return it along with your scarecrow submission to the Bolivar Municipal Center (Re: Community Garden), 211 West Jackson Street, Bolivar, Tennessee 38008.
Submissions will be accepted through Friday, October 20, 2023. Contestants may place their scarecrow in the garden Monday through Thursday, October 23 – 26, 2023. Recognition will be given for first place, second place, and third place winners. Scarecrows may be picked up anytime Thursday through Tuesday, November 9 – 14, 2023.
The City of Bolivar Community Garden is located at Pleasant Run Creek Park in the open field to the right of the parking lot, after entering the park.
