Rock Band Soundbox Brings a Rockin’ Christmas Celebration to Bolivar

It is going to be a “Rockin’ Christmas Celebration” when Memphis-based rock band Soundbox performs in concert at the Hardeman County Arts Center in Bolivar on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 7 p.m. The holiday concert is presented by the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) and Homeschool Roster.

HCAC President Brandon Burvee commented earlier this year when it was announced Rockland Road would be performing at the Arts Center that the HCAC was looking forward to expanding its event offerings.

“The HCAC has a great facility, but for some time it has been underutilized. It is our goal to have at least one event per month.” said Burvee.

So far this year, the HCAC has managed to have an ongoing calendar of monthly events that have drawn more people to the Arts Center this year. The HCAC just held is annual Hardeman’s Got Talent competition this past weekend and has a Paint Party planned for November. In December, on the stage will be its Christmas theatrical production of Christmas Belles, and then the “Rockin’ Christmas Celebration” featuring music by Soundbox will close out December.

“Soundbox, which is composed of five extremely talented teens, Isabella, Seba, Josh, Jason, and Kevin, have a dynamic show planned for Hardeman County this Christmas,” said Jennifer Smeltser of Homeschool Roster, the event sponsor. “The Christmas concert will tie in well with events that will be already happening in Bolivar that include the ‘Small Town, Big Christmas Festival’ and the Singing Christmas Tree at First Baptist Church. It is going to be a busy and festive Christmas this year!”

Soundbox wants people to come out for an entertaining and fun night. The concert will feature a great mix of original and festive music. Audience members are encouraged to “wear your best ugly sweater and sing along”.

Tickets for the “Rockin’ Christmas Celebration” are $15 and may be purchased online now.
