Meet the Republican Candidates for Road Supervisor District 2

Why have you chosen to run for Road Supervisor- District 2?

Bell – Over the past few years I’ve noticed a decline in the conditions and safety of the roads. These are problems I feel I am uniquely qualified to help solve.

Russell – Since Mr. Danny has decided not to run for re-election, I feel like this will be a great
opportunity for me to help serve the people of District 2.

Would you like to share anything about your family and work history?

Bell – I’ve been married to Savannah Bell for 9 years. We have a 4 year old, 2 year old and a 3 week old newborn. I grew up working in farming and agriculture operating equipment and gaining experience in hard work and leadership.

Russell – I’m 49 years old and have lived in
Middleton my whole life. I have been married to my wife, Kelly, for 26 years and we have 2 grown, married children. I currently have my own business, Russell Landscaping and Tree Service and live on a farm where we grow, cut and sell hay. I started working when I was young, mowing neighbors yards. In my teenage years I worked at Piggly Wiggly (Kirks) and with Monroe Willis in construction. After high school, I worked in Jackson, TN at Proctor and Gamble as an electrician for about 4 years. I then went to work at Dover (TKE) and worked there for 23 years while doing landscaping part time.

What experience do you have that has prepared you for this position?

Bell – The past 7 years I have been building and maintaining roads as an equipment operator. I am currently working on the Highway 15 Bypass in Blue Mountain, Ms.

Russell – I believe the role of the Road Supervisor is to strongly advocate the needs and concerns of the people in his district, to the Road Commissioner. Then, work with the Commissioner to get things in order and scheduled to be completed. To do this,
communication skills are a must. Through my experience as a lead man at TKE and having my own business, I have learned how to resolve conflict, delegate tasks, work with a budget and to coordinate plans of action. All of this comes through effective communication.

What do you anticipate being the most difficult part of this position?

Bell – The communication and response time. This is why I plan to implement a public platform for people to report issues and get updates. I will treat people with respect and take their concerns seriously.

Russell – Keeping the pot holes patched!! LOL
Basically, getting the amount of work that needs to be done, with the funds that are available.

In a single sentence (about 25 words), how would you respond to the question, “Why should I vote for you?”

Bell – With my experience, hard work and dedication I will commit to doing everything physically possible to help fix the issues regarding the county roads.

Russell – I have the skills needed to do this job
effectively and will always be available to listen to any concerns and answer any questions.

Early voting dates are Wednesday, April 15 – Thursday, April 30, 2026, for the May 5, 2026, County Primary.
