Republican Party Holds Gubernatorial Straw Poll at Monthly Meeting

The Hardeman County Republican Party met on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Carriage House Coffee in Bolivar for its monthly meeting. The discussion focused on current the 2026 primary election. Several local candidates were in attendance and introduced themselves. Bob Hendry was the guest speaker.

The party held a Gubernatorial Straw Poll during the meeting. Approximately 36 attendees participated in the poll. The results showed gubernatorial candidate Monty Fritts with the lead. Marsha Blackburn came in second, followed by John Rose. Approximately 11% of participants were undecided. Primary elections for Tennessee Governor will be held on August 6, 2026.

Over 50 Hardeman County residents qualified to be on the ballot for the upcoming election. 32 Hardeman County positions will be up for election in 2026. The County Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and the General Election will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
