Emergency Vehicles, Helicopter Expected at BCHS for First Responders Career Day
Residents near Bolivar Central High School may notice emergency vehicles, flashing lights and even a helicopter on campus Friday, September 18, 2026, but school officials want the community to know there is no cause for alarm.
The activity will be part of a special First Responders Career Day being held at the school to introduce students to careers in emergency services.
Students will have an opportunity to interact with local police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel while learning more about the work first responders perform in the community and the career paths available in those fields.
As part of the event, several emergency vehicles will be on campus, and a helicopter is expected to land outside the school.
School officials are notifying the public in advance so residents and those passing through the area will not mistake the activity for an actual emergency.
“If you see emergency vehicles, flashing lights, or a helicopter landing outside Bolivar Central High School tomorrow, please do not be alarmed. There is no emergency taking place,” the school shared.
The school is also asking community members to help spread the word about the planned event so others will know that the increased first responder presence is part of the Career Day activities.
