From Training First Responders to Becoming One: Bryan Hill Joins Middleton Police
The Middleton Police Department welcomed its newest officer, Bryan Hill, during a special swearing-in ceremony Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Middleton City Hall.
Hill recently completed the requirements of the State of Tennessee, graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville. Middleton Police Chief A. Bowden recognized Hill’s hard work and dedication in completing the rigorous training required to begin his law enforcement career.
Although this is Hill’s first position in law enforcement, serving others has long been an important part of his life.
Hill said his desire to enter law enforcement grew from a “lifelong serve attitude” that began while growing up in Florida, where his mother worked for the Center for Drug Free Living. He recalled working alongside her before later finding other opportunities to serve as an adult, including volunteering through his church and helping people improve their health and wellness through his work as a fitness professional.
“Now I get to serve people and help keep them safe,” Hill said, adding that encouragement from family also played a role in his decision to make the career change.
Hill brings more than a decade of experience as a fitness professional to his new career. During that time, he worked with numerous first responders, including police officers and SWAT operators, helping them physically prepare for law enforcement academies and the demands of their jobs. Those experiences, he said, gave him insight into the profession before deciding to pursue it himself.
As he begins this new chapter, Hill said he looks forward to building on the standards established by the Middleton Police Department over the years while finding ways to continue improving public safety.
“One of the biggest things I am looking forward to in my new role is to continue the standard that has been set for me by the police department over the past couple decades,” Hill said. He added that he wants to help keep Middleton “as safe and peaceful as possible.”
For Hill, serving and protecting means accepting a daily responsibility to remain vigilant and attentive to the needs of the community while taking a proactive approach to maintaining safety and peace.
He also plans to continue getting to know Middleton residents by remaining visible and accessible throughout the community. Hill said residents can expect to see him at local businesses, school ball games and community events.
When he is away from work, Hill stays active. He spends much of his free time pursuing competitive bodybuilding and powerlifting and also enjoys golf and recreational softball.
With his academy training complete and his swearing-in ceremony marking another milestone, Hill now begins his career as the newest member of the Middleton Police Department.
