Bolivar Central Tiger Pride Tailgate 2025 to Return with a Roar {video}

With just about three weeks before Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) celebrates its 2025 homecoming, Michion Gatlin of the BCHS Class of 1995 wants to see a resurgence of Tiger Pride through the planned tailgate event. Mr. Gatlin hopes current students and alumni will attend the Tiger Pride Tailgate 2025, which will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, starting before the homecoming game and continuing until early evening, ending soon after the final football whistle is blown.
Tiger Pride is more than a Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) mantra. It is everything that has anything to do with BCHS, its current student body, staff, teachers, and alumni and the way they all support each other. Mr. Gatlin arranged a meeting at BCHS with City of Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic, Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse, Chamber of Commerce Director Vickie Walton, and key representatives from BCHS to work through the details of the planned Tiger Pride Tailgate 2025.
“The Tiger Pride Tailgate has been a staple in the community,” said Mr. Gatlin, who shared his vision for the event. “It’s all about the students, the student athletes, the cheerleaders, the coaches, the coaching staff, administration, faculty, and staff. We want to make sure everyone involved knows the community is behind them!”
The main purpose of the meeting was to receive feedback on how the event could best support BCHS, its athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, band, and staff. Mr. Gatlin stressed the importance of making all classes feel welcomed and ensuring the price for attendance was affordable, while also making it a benefit to the school.

Mr. Gatlin shared the Tiger Pride Tailgate was very active from 2015 through 2019. The event, like many others, was affected by COVID and never regained the momentum afterwards or the attendance it once had.
“I want to bring back the experience and the previous years of glory,” said Mr. Gatlin. “It is important for people to get out of their own way and be a part of something bigger than themselves!”
Tiger Pride Tailgate 2025 will be set up on the BCHS football practice field. Spaces for BCHS classes to reserve are $100 and include 10 tickets to the homecoming game. Canopies and barbeque grills will be permitted. Food truck vendors are invited to reserve street space to set up for $150.

If your class would like to reserve a tailgate space or you are a food truck vendor and would like to set up to sell, registration may be paid in cash or check at BCHS to Ms. Wanda Grantham during school hours.
Mr. Gatlin encourages all alumni classes of BCHS to come out “show your Tiger Pride”!
“So, let’s go Tigers, let’s go,” said Mr. Gatlin.
