Buildings Committee Continues Discussion on Election Administrator’s Building Request
The Hardeman County Building’s Committee met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2023. The items on the agenda included discussions on relocating the Hardeman County Election Commission and repairs to the Archives Building.
Options discussed for the Election Commission included constructing a new facility, renovating or expanding the current building, or renovating unused space in the County EMS building. It was mentioned that the Bolivar Fire Department is interested in renting the unused portion of the EMS building and that needs to be finalized before moving forward. There were also questions about the exact space and size needed for the Election Commission. Election Administrator Amber Moore was not present at the meeting, but had previously made a request for a new building at the February County Commission meeting.
The other item discussed was applying for grants to make repairs to the archives building.
The committee did not decide on a recommendation to present to the the County Commission, which will meet on July 18, 2023. You may watch the June 2023 county commission meeting.
