Sheriff Doolen Speaks at Meeting

Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen was the guest speaker at this week’s meeting of the Hardeman County Republican Party. Guests were served a complimentary dinner before Sheriff John Doolen shared updates from his department.

Sheriff Doolen stated that the Sheriff’s Department and trustees have picked up 134,720 pounds of litter in the past year, since the Sheriff’s Department has taken over managing the litter grant. He also addressed questions from those in attendance on issues such as gang presence in the county, prosecution of offenders, ways citizens can help, and said they are currently looking to fill open deputy positions.

The Hardeman County Republican Party regularly invites community leaders to speak. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Brick’s Café, 100 South Main in Bolivar. Everyone is welcome to attend.
