City of Middleton Meeting – April 2024

The City of Middleton met for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 15, 2024. 

Some of the items on the agenda included:

The board approved the minutes from the March 18, 2024 meeting.

An update was given on the Tennessee Downtowns program. The City of Middleton was not awarded the grant this time around. It was said the grant is very competitive and the City will reapply.

Jill Holland with Southwest Tennessee Development District (SWTDD) addressed the board in regard to the benefits of the SWTDD.

Fire Department, Police Department, and Utility reports were presented.

Mayor Mott gave an update on the utility rate study.

Mayor Mott gave an update on the quote received in relation to a lean to building that is to be constructed at Middleton Fiberglass.

The board voted to allow the union (BoilerMakers) to use the community center for a family day in June and to charge the industrial rate for the use.

The board voted on sewer and water bill adjustments for several residents and businesses.
