Community Health Center Celebrates New Women’s and Children’s Clinic
The Hardeman County Community Health Center celebrated the completion of its new Women’s & Children’s Clinic on Friday, August 2, 2024, just one year after ground was broke for the new facility.
“This moment marks a significant milestone for our community and represents an unwavering commitment to the woman and children in our rural areas,” shared CEO Marlita White. “In many rural communities, like ours, access and quality healthcare has often been a challenge. Distance, limited resources, and the scarcity of specialized care have made it difficult for many families to receive the comprehensive medial attention they need and deserve. This new center is the beacon of hope and progress designed to address these challenges and provide a sanctuary of care, compassion, and support for our women and children. Our healthcare center is not just a building, it is a promise. A promise that every woman and child in our community will have access to the highest standard of medical care right here close to home. From pre-natal to post-natal care, to pediatric services, wellness programs, and preventive care, our center will serve as a cornerstone of health and well-being for generations to come.”
The facility is a little over 7,000 square feet and houses the women and children services and behavioral health services. As a part of an established healthcare facility under the umbrella of the Federally Qualified Health Centers, the clinic will provide more focused and managed care that includes “an integrated package of essential interventions and services delivered by a functioning health system”. Since the clinic is federally funded, patients will be seen regardless of their ability to pay. The hope is to offer more thorough medical evaluations and care for its patients that surpasses what the center already provides to women and children.
“We have staffed this facility with highly trained healthcare professionals, who are not only experts in their field, but also deeply committed to serving their community. Their expertise combined with their compassion and understanding of the unique needs of rural populations, will ensure that every patient receives personalized, empathic, and effective care.” said Ms. White. “Today, as we cut the ribbon and open the doors to our new center we are also opening the doors to a healthier, brighter future for our community. This center will be a place of healing, learning, and empowerment. It will be a place where mothers can find support and guidance. Where children can grow and thrive and where families can find hope and care. Let us continue to work together to support one another in investing in the health and well-being of our community. By doing so, we are not only improving the quality of life for our current residents, but also paving the way for the future generations to live healthier and happier lives.”
The Women’s and Children’s Clinic is located at 629 Nuckolls Road in Bolivar and will begin seeing patients this fall.
