Congressman David Kustoff Makes a Visit to Hardeman County
State of Tennessee Congressman David Kustoff visited Hardeman County on Friday, June 21, 2024, making stops at several locations to meet and “catch up” with constituents to share about news from his recent visit to Washington D.C., and learn how he can better serve the people he represents in West Tennessee.
Some of the stops he made in Hardeman County included the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Center, City of Bolivar Municipal Center, Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Whiteville.
“When he [Congressman Kustoff ] returns from D.C., he likes to get around the district and see people in all of the counties,” said Isaac Weston, Field Representative for Congressman Kustoff. “Some of the meetings are new meetings to see people he has not yet met, and some are to see people he has not seen in a while. We have parts of 20 countries, and he likes to get to all 20 counties at least a couple of times a year.”
Congressman Kustoff met with Sheriff John Doolen; Vickie Walton and Stacy Lipford, Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce; Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse; Mayor Gene Bowden and Chief Ben Davis, Town of Whiteville; City of Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic, and even took a moment to address City of Bolivar employees during an employee luncheon.
“The congressman wants to better get to know and talk to the people he represents in Washington. He does not know what they want unless he comes to meet with them face-to-face,” said Monte Belew, Senior Advisor for Congressman Kustoff. “He is covering 20 counties in West Tennessee. There is no grass growing underneath his feet, I promise you. He covers a lot of ground, and we just try to keep up with him.”
Congressman David Kustoff has been the U.S. Representative from Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District since 2017 and is running for reelection in 2024. He will hold a Kustoff Family Cookout on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at The Barn at Snider Farms at 5 p.m. The event is free and people are encouraged to register for planning purposes.
