Extension Employee Spotlight: Clint Plunk

March is recognized as Extension Month, a time to highlight the impact of local Extension offices and the individuals who provide research-based education and resources to their communities. The UT–TSU Extension Office in Hardeman County is proud to spotlight Clint Plunk, Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent.

Plunk serves as the UT Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent I, working closely with local farmers, landowners, and producers throughout Hardeman County. In this role, he provides education and support on a wide range of topics including crop production, soil health, and farm management.

With five years of service in Extension, Plunk has developed a strong connection with the agricultural community. He enjoys working directly with producers and helping them address challenges while improving productivity and sustainability.

Plunk emphasizes that Extension offers far more than many people realize. “One thing most people do not know about Extension is that we can help find answers for almost anything,” he said. “Whether it is agriculture-related, 4-H youth development, healthy living information, or general knowledge about what’s going on in the county, Extension has an answer.”

He also shared that one of the most rewarding aspects of his job is the variety it brings. “My favorite part of Extension is that no one day is the same,” Plunk said. “Each day brings new opportunities to work with people and make a difference in the community.”

The UT–TSU Extension Office in Hardeman County continues to provide educational programs and resources for residents of all ages in agriculture, youth development, horticulture, and family and consumer sciences.
