Fayette Cares Celebrates 20th Annual Golf Tournament in Landmark 40th Year
Somerville, TN — Fayette Cares celebrated a major milestone this past week, hosting its 20th Annual Golf Tournament during the organization’s 40th year of service—and delivering a day that participants are still talking about.
From the opening tee shot to the final awards, the course was alive with friendly competition and community spirit, and by day’s end, one thing was clear: this was no ordinary tournament.
Sponsors and players who regularly participate in events across the region took notice. Many shared that Fayette Cares’ tournament ranked among the very best; praise that reflects the dedication of the volunteers, staff, and supporters who made it all happen.
Leading the field was the championship team of Randy Sells, Taylor Pfohl, Bradley Sells, and James McIntyre, who captured first place with an impressive score of 17-under par.
In the days following the tournament, as staff wrapped up event operations, a local resident arrived unexpectedly at the Fayette Cares facility, not to receive help, but to give it. He shared that he, his wife, and their six children had once relied on Fayette Cares during a difficult time. Now back on stable ground, he returned with a cart full of groceries to pay it forward.
Moments like that serve as a powerful reminder of what the tournament truly supports.
