Garrett’s Gaps and Gullies’ Holds 4th Semi-Annual Disc Golf Tournament

Twenty-five players competed Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Garrett’s Gaps and Gullies’ 4th Semi-Annual Disc Golf Tournament. Garrett’s Gaps and Gullies is a privately owned disc golf course in Bolivar. The tournament consisted of two 18-hole rounds, with a buffet-style hamburger lunch being served in between rounds. This year, the tournament was sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA), which allowed the ratings of PDGA registered players to be automatically modified based on the results of the tournament.

Mixed Amateur 1: Micah Whitnell (1st Place), Patrick Mertz (2nd Place)

Mixed Amateur 2: Caleb Troyer (1st Place), Gerald Schrock (2nd Place)

Mixed Amateur 3: Charlie Meeks and Tanner Cole, (1st Place, Tie), Karl Beifus (2nd Place)

Mixed Amateur 4: Hudson Craft (1st Place), Dave Wade (2nd Place)

CTP Prize Winners: David Mertz (Hole 13) and Caleb Troyer (Hole 18).

This year the players in the top 45 percent of each division were awarded a cash prize, paid out by the tournament director, Jimmy Garrett, through 1010 Discs. 

Every participant was given a free lunch and went home with a new disc and a commemorative mini-disc. 

Disc golf is a healthy, family-friendly sport that any age can get involved in! Garrett’s Gaps and Gullies is a free-to-play course that is almost always accessible.
