Grand Junction Library News

By Diane Callahan

Grand Junction is on the move with the public library and the elementary school!  The Grand Junction Public Library is heavily involved with the Accelerated Reader Program at the Grand Junction Elementary School (GJES) and the program is going strong. Students at GJES are reading and learning and growing in knowledge and experience! The Library is getting new books in on a weekly basis. We have recently added the much loved series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This week we are expecting 30 new books in the Geronimo Stilton series.

Our Library is very much in need of volunteers! Currently, we need someone to decorate for spring and Easter. We have the decorations . . . just need YOU to put them up. Volunteers are also needed on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to help the students choose books. Volunteers do not have to stay the entire time. Even 30 minutes or one hour per person is very helpful and appreciated! We also need volunteers to help with the Summer Reading Program that will take place in June. Currently, we need someone to lead this project. We would love to chat with you about any of these volunteer opportunities!

As you can see, we are very busy and that is good! We need your assistance if you can spare a few minutes to help us! Stop by the Grand Junction Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. or on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. We look forward to seeing you!

The Grand Junction Library is located at 530 Madison Avenue West, Grand Junction, Tennessee 38039. They may be reached at (731) 764-2716.
