Hardeman County Schools Inks Deal with JSCC to Auto-Accept All High School Seniors
Hardeman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Christy Smith inked a new deal for all Hardeman County High School students to be auto-accepted into Jackson State Community College (JSCC) through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the JSCC Jackson campus.
Through the MOU, titled JSCC Accepted, JSCC will receive high school student information to streamline the admissions process for Juniors and Seniors at both Bolivar Central High School and Middleton High School. The college will also begin communication outreach to students as early as Freshman year to raise awareness of JSCC Accepted for students beginning the college-going process.
“We developed the JSCC Accepted initiative as a way to provide hope to students who otherwise wouldn’t see college as an option in their future,” said Tim Dellinger, Executive Vice President of Finance, Administration, and Student Services. “We do everything we can to make Jackson State an option for every student. We want Hardeman County students to know that college is not only an option for them, but a reality.”
Hardeman County in previous years has been designated as an at-risk SPARC (Supporting Postsecondary Attainment/Access in Rural Counties) county by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) through data provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) economic indicators. Through this MOU, JSCC and Hardeman County Schools are furthering their commitment to see students obtain a college-level credential so that they may better themselves, their families, and the greater West Tennessee region through their furthered knowledge and training.
