Young artists across Hardeman County have an opportunity to have their work recognized as part of the Town of Whiteville’s Student Art Contest.

The contest is open to all Hardeman County students, including those enrolled in public, private and homeschool programs from elementary through high school.

Students are invited to submit one original piece of artwork that is either sketched or painted. Organizers say artwork may feature any theme, but entries should not include logos or words.

Artwork must be submitted by Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. Entries may be turned in at Whiteville City Hall or through the student’s school.

Winners will be selected in three age divisions—elementary, middle and high school. First- and second-place winners in each division will receive art supplies and a $25 gift card.

Winning artwork will be announced during the 6th Annual Main Street Festival and displayed at the Whiteville Community Center, giving students an opportunity to share their creativity with the community.

Town officials are encouraging students from across the county to participate, calling on young artists to “create, imagine and shine.”
