Mossy Haunts presents House of Fright! A haunted experience for ages 10 and older located at the Agribusiness Center, 210 Vildo Road in Bolivar. Admission is $20 per person. Open Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The table has been set for the next FRIENDS of the Library ESCAPE ROOM experience at the Bolivar-Hardeman County Library. The Manor, a murder mystery escape room will have guests looking for 11 clues to help decipher the code that will give them the combination to the lock to escape the room. {click here to read more and get your tickets}

Hardeman County has planned a BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION to recognize the 200th birthday of our great county on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The celebration will kickoff with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on the courthouse lawn. Exhibits, demonstrations, and a display of the time capsule contents (available now to view) will be available throughout the day at the Hardeman County Courthouse. {click here to find a schedule of the planned activities}

The first of two Tennessee young sportsman deer hunts for the 2023 – 2024 season will be held the weekend of October 28 – 29, 2023. Youth ages 6 – 16 may participate using guns, muzzleloaders, or archery equipment. {click here to read more}

The Exorcist: Believer (R) is showing at the historic Luez Theater! Showtimes are Friday, October 27, 2023, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The box office opens one hour prior to showtime for ticket sales.

Town of Toone hosts Craft Fair in the Park – October 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fun for the family, food, face painting, 30+ vendors – 2005 Tennessee Hwy 138, Toone, Tennessee 38381

St. James Episcopal Church will have an open house on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Located at 223 West Lafayette Street, Bolivar, Tennessee. Feel free to come by and check the historic church out, and you might even get some Halloween candy! St. James, the Columns and the Little Court House are all open for Hardeman County’s Bicentennial Celebration!

Parrans Chapel Baptist Church is holding a rummage sale and fall festival. The day will start with the rummage sale with items from an estate sale to clothing. The day will also include harvest fun activities with hay rides, pumpkin decorating, a cake walk, face painting, and corn hole. Immanuel Episcopal Church and the Senior Task Force present James Thrash – Benefit Piano Concert on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10. available only at the door. Immanuel Episcopal Church, 35 Second Street, La Grange, Tennessee. Following the concert, all are invited to Trick or Treat in the town park and hot dog supper at the General Store in La Grange . . . easy walking distance from the church.

The 3rd Annual Bolivar Barbecue Blowout & Music Festival will be held in beautiful downtown Bolivar, Tennessee, on Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28, 2023! The event will include Memphis style BBQ, food trucks, a children’s carnival, vendors, a classic car and truck round up, hometown hero award, March of the Dogs parade, a corn hole tournament, and live concerts. {click here to find the full schedule}
