Hatchie Press’ Weekend Planner – Sponsored by UT Extension – Hardeman Healthy Outreach 10/14 – 10/16

This Hatchie Press Weekend Planner is sponsored by UT Extension’s Hardeman Healthy Outreach. They aim to improve access to healthy foods and physical activity opportunities in towns, churches, food pantries, worksites, and parks – to reduce chronic disease that may come with obesity. It is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The following are some events happening in and around Hardeman County the weekend of October 14 – October 16, 2022.

17th Annual March of Dogs Parade is Saturday, October 15, 2022. Line up is at 10:30 a.m. at Vaughan Oil, West Market Street, Bolivar, (No pit bulls due to county ban). There will be great prizes!

Pet Costume Contest On the Square is Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m.

The Fire Emergency Services Festival will have demonstrations and more from fire, police, emergency medical services, and rescue departments on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bolivar Walmart.

Audition for Who Stole Santa’s Pants at the Hardeman County Arts Council. Auditions will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the HCAC, 1580 West Market, Bolivar, Tennessee 38008. The production dates are Friday through Sunday, December 2 – 4, 2022. Call the HCAC at (731) 658-2787 for more information.

Star Inc. Presents: Broadway Nights! Featuring some of your favorite songs from across all eras of Broadway with shows like Les Miserable, Hamilton, Company, Wicked, and many more! Show dates are Friday and Saturday, October 14 – 15, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, October 16, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online or at the box office one hour prior to the show. The Fair Theater is located at 116 East Market Street, Somerville, Tennessee 38068.

Go and see Smile (RATED R) at the Luez Theater. Showtimes are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

It’s the last Music On the Square show this season! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a free, family-friendly concert behind the Hardeman County Courthouse in Bolivar. This Friday night, Brian Lee Howell (ELVIS) opens for Small Shack. Be sure to check out the new facility.

Total Transformation is holding a one year celebration line dance & fitness class on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Bolivar Farmers Market, 110 Lafayette St., Bolivar. Come enjoy line dancing, games, and inspiration about self-care, mind, body, and spirit.
