HRAYS Holding Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser

The Hatchie River Area Youth Soccer (HRAYS) is making plans for its HRAYS Spaghetti Supper fundraiser that will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, in Middleton. The annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Middleton Lions Club.

“The fundraiser is for soccer equipment/goals, nets balls, paint for the fields, portable toilet, and other miscellaneous expenses,” said Betsy House, HRAYS Recreational Club Director. “Last year, we were able to add a much needed playing field.”

The HRAYS (formerly known as the Middleton Soccer League) was formed in 1990. Its registration reaches an average of 200 soccer players each season who range from four years old to high school seniors.

“Several youth have played every year. Also, some have come back to help as referees and coaches,” said House who started coaching in the early years of the league. “I took a break when my children were no longer playing, then started back about 13 years ago with my grandchildren.”

House’s two daughters, Jennifer Goodrum and April House, are coaches this season and have been for many years. They each also have children who play with the HRAYS. The proceeds from the fundraiser will help the HRAYS continue its legacy of serving youth in Hardeman County and its surrounding areas providing the soccer recreation option.

The spaghetti supper includes spaghetti, roll, a side, dessert, and a drink. Meals may be picked up from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Middleton First Baptist Church Family life Center. Pick up by appointment is also available and walk-ins (purchase tickets onsite) are accepted. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from any HRAYS player or coach, or by calling Betsy House at (731) 518-5694.
