Jack’s Restaurant Begins Construction in Bolivar

Work has already begun, just one week after the City of Bolivar announced Jack’s Family Restaurant had chosen Bolivar for its new location.

“After months of speculation, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome Jack’s Restaurant to the City of Bolivar,” said Mayor Julian McTizic in a social media announcement last week.

McTizic continued, “Jack’s opened their first grill in Homewood, Alabama in 1960. They believe that while things have changed throughout time, one constant remains the same: good food and good people make a great time. We couldn’t agree more! They will fit right in here with our great people!”

The parcels currently consist of two residential homes and a commercial building. All are expected to be demolished soon to make way for the new restaurant. Jack’s purchased the properties last month at a price of $435,000.

Since their beginnings in 1960, Jacks has grown to almost 200 locations in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi.

The new restaurant will be located on West Market Street behind Vaughan Oil and will have entrances on both West Market Street and Tennessee Street.
