John Doolen Named Moscow Police Chief

Former Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen is returning to law enforcement leadership after being selected to serve as the new chief of the Moscow Police Department. The City of Moscow recently announced Doolen’s appointment and he was officially sworn into office Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 8 a.m. at Moscow City Hall.

Doolen is well known throughout Hardeman County following his service as county sheriff. His move to the Moscow Police Department marks a new chapter in his law enforcement career. The appointment comes shortly after Doolen completed his tenure as Hardeman County Sheriff. He served as sheriff until Antonio Parham took office following the 2026 county election.

As police chief, Doolen will oversee the Moscow Police Department and its law enforcement operations within the city. The City of Moscow expressed its pleasure in announcing the appointment, stating, “The city is pleased to announce that former Hardeman County Sheriff, John Doolen will be our new Chief of the Moscow Police Department.”
