The Middleton Community Library named four students as the winners of its Summer Reading Program that was held every Thursday in June. The winners are Cooper, Pre-Reader winner; Raymond, Early Reader winner; Bailey, Intermediate Reader winner; and Lindsay, Teen Reader winner.

The Summer Reading Program included the reading challenge, a craft/activity, and a special guest visitor from the community. Program participants learned something new each week from the guest visitors with Chickasaw State Park Ranger Mary Katherine Walker and local author K. Turner the second week; Middleton Police Chief Arness Bowden and General Sessions Court Judge Harriet Thompson the third week; and the summer program was closed out with a visit from Smokey the Bear.

All readers were given prizes for turning in their reading logs at the end of the program. The top readers of each age group received special awards that included Kindle Fires.
