Middleton Library Receives $75,000 Grant for Expansion

Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett presented the Middleton Community Library with a construction grant of $75,000 on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
These funds will support the second phase of the library’s expansion through the construction of a 1,008-square-foot addition. This room will be dedicated to enhancing the children’s collection and programming. By relocating the children’s area into the new addition, the library will be able to repurpose its current space to better serve patrons of all ages.
The support for this addition builds on the $50,000 construction grant awarded in 2021 as part of the library’s initial expansion efforts. Middleton’s library will be even better positioned to meet the needs of all its citizens by providing critical community services, such as access to technology, early childhood literacy promotion, as well as education & workforce development resources.
“Our library is thrilled to have the support of Secretary Hargett, Tennessee State Library & Archives, our local leaders and community,” shared the Middleton Library.
