Obituary: Tony Sides

Tony Sides ~ March 9, 1962 – March 13, 2024 (age 62)

Tony Sides, born in Tippah County, on March 9, 1962, bid farewell to the world on March 13, 2024, in Bolivar, Tennessee.

During his lifetime, Tony had over 20 years of service as an assistant manager with Easterling Pest Control. Prior to that, he contributed his expertise to Bolivar Wood Products and the Mississippi Highway Department.

Apart from his professional endeavors, he was a man of interests and passions. Spending quality time enjoying outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, riding tractors and four wheelers—Tony lived to the fullest. He also found joy in grilling out and watching wrestling, mixed martial arts, and boxing events. His greatest enjoyment came from being around his grandchildren.

In his younger years, Tony was a part of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church community in Walnut, Mississippi—a place that held a special spot in his heart.

Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 4 p.m. The visitation is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in Middleton.

Tony leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. Among those mourning his loss are his beloved wife, Judy Sides, whom he married on July 31, 1983; his children, Jennifer Beavers and William of Middleton and Christopher Sides and Lindsey of Saulsbury; grandchildren, Alyssa Fish, Ruble Fish, and Jasper Sides; sisters, Carolyn Vincent and Roger of Jackson, Bobbie Lambert of Corinth, Mississippi, Ruthie Sebring of Corinth, Mississippi, and Tammey Townsend and Jimmy of Middleton; as well as a half-brother, Mike Frazier and Bonnie of Walnut, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Cordie Childers Sides, and a nephew, Joey Lee Pannell, but will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Tony’s impact on those around him will be everlasting as they hold dear the memories shared with him throughout the years.
