Public Notice: DISASTER ASSISTANCE Emergency Forest Restoration Program

Hardeman County Farm Service Agency is accepting applications for the Emergency Forest Restoration Program (EFRP) to address damages from the March 31 and April 1 tornados.

EFRP sign-up begins on May 2, 2023, and ends on July 2, 2023.

To meet eligibility requirements, NIPF (Non-Industrial Private Forest) land must have existing tree cover or had tree cover immediately before the natural disaster occurred and be sustainable for growing trees. The land must also be owned by any nonindustrial private individual, group, association, corporation, or other private legal entity that has definitive decision-making authority over the land. The natural disaster must have resulted in damage that if untreated would impair or endanger the natural resources on the land and/or materially affect future use of the land.

Producers who qualify for EFRP assistance, may receive cost-share levels not to exceed 75 percent of the eligible cost of restoration measures. No one is eligible for more than $500,000 cost sharing per natural disaster occurrence.
