Sheriff’s Office Warns of Phone Scam
The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a phone scam that could cost you. The Sheriff’s Office recently shared the details on social media.
“We were currently made aware of another scam. It is very similar to the one that occurred in May of this year. Someone posing as a Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office employee is calling and claiming that money is owed to the Sheriff’s Office for not reporting for jury duty. They claim that if you do not pay the money then further action will be taken. We will not call you to collect any money. Please do not send these scammers any money. For Hardeman County residents that have been scammed out of any money, please contact 911 Dispatch at (731) 658-1902 to file a report.”
