Hardeman County Mayoral Candidate Debate (video)

All Hardeman County candidates were invited to a public forum which was held on Thursday, July 9, at the Bolivar Municipal Center. After the forum, three of the four mayoral candidates participated in a debate. Mayoral candidate Aubrey Phillips (Independent), did not participate in the debate, but instead chose to address the audience beforehand during the candidate forum.

The three candidates that participated in the mayoral debate were Megan Hedwall (Republican), Todd Pulse (Democrat), and incumbent Hardeman County Mayor Jimmy Sain (Independent).

Each candidate was asked to respond to the following questions:

1) Considering the most frequent issues expressed to you by voters, during this campaign, what are the top three issues and why are you the best candidate to meet those needs?

2) If elected as mayor of Hardeman County, what will you do to work in concert with other Hardeman County elected officers to improve the quality of life and aspiration for the citizens of Hardeman County:

Specifically, for:
– Those age 18 years and under.
– Those in their childbearing years.
– and those 55 and older.

3) What opportunities do you see for economic growth and development in Hardeman County?
