Rockland Road Concert Leads to More Offerings at the Hardeman County Arts Council

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) is spreading its performing and visual arts wings with its upcoming concert of Rockland Road featuring Small Shack that will be presented on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the venue.

“Paul, Jamie, and their four children, March, Kell, Texas, and Tallant, are a phenomenal group and we are so excited to be able to bring them back to Bolivar,” said HCAC President Brandon Burvee.

Rockland Road is a vocal-driven, melodic band with a signature sound as rich and authentic as its namesake. The band members, made up of six musicians who share the last name Martin, are all vocalists, but their musical talent also includes the ability to play 23 different instruments. It is a powerhouse group featuring soulful vocals imbued with a pure, exuberant joy worthy of the talented blood that flows through this family’s veins.

The Rockland Road event is following in the series of music concerts and other events the HCAC has added to its 2022/2023 production season. In December, there was a good turnout to see An ELVIS Kind of Christmas. Fans were lined up at the door to get the best seats to see Elvis impersonator Brian Lee Howell. Other events include the HCAC Karaoke Night, and an upcoming show with Magician & Illusionist Braden Foster.

“We are in the process of expanding our event offerings and are adding concerts, karaoke nights, and other events to our production lineup,” said Burvee. “HCAC has a great facility, but for some time it has been underutilized. It is our goal to have at least one event per month.”

The HCAC just closed its dinner theatre production of Crab Cakes and Murder this past weekend. A third show on Thursday night was added after the originally scheduled Friday and Saturday night shows sold out. It was the first time seeing an event at the HCAC for many who attended the dinner theatre.

“Like our vision statement says, we hope to inform, enchant, and inspire the community through the presentation of local groups, individual artists, and major art organizations that will nurture and promote the arts. We hope citizens of Hardeman and surrounding counties enjoy our new event offerings and we continue to bring in people from not only Hardeman County, but surrounding counties, which in turn increases tourism in the City of Bolivar and Hardeman County,” said Burvee.
