Singers Put Nerves Aside and Perform at HCAC Karaoke Night

Libby and Indian sing Sonny and Cher’s “I’ve Got You Babe” at the HCAC Karaoke Night.

Karaoke Night at the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) on July 23 was kicked off by two brave people, Libby and Indian, with their best karaoke rendition of Sonny and Cher’s “I’ve Got You Babe”. That is all it took to get the night started with a steady flow of singers onto the HCAC stage.

Attendees were able to choose from a large library of songs that included country, easy listening, gospel, pop, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and more.

As the night continued, so did the entertainment with country, pop, and Broadway favorites.

Some sang in twos, threes, and larger groups. There is a lot of great singing talent in Hardeman County,

It was nothing but fun when friends, Haley and Haley, took the stage and sang “You Belong with Me” giving homage to Taylor Swift.

Local singer and the 2021 HCAC’s Hardeman’s Got Talent Winner, Jeremy Lawson, came out and sang. Lawson last appeared on the HCAC stage in Aladdin Jr. You can catch him tonight opening and performing at Music on the Square.

A giveaway of tickets to attend an HCAC production of choice were won by Nate Foster and Langston Steinsultz.

By the end of the evening, more than 50 songs were sung with the night closing out nearly four hours later.

The HCAC Karaoke Night is a regular event for the non-profit organization. It is open to everyone and all are invited, singers and those who just prefer to watch and be entertained.

Upcoming events at the HCAC are Honky Tonk Angels in September and Hardeman’s Got Talent in October. Like the HCAC Facebook page to keep up to date on theatrical productions and other community events it presents.
